We are happy to announce the inaugural blog post for LuxurySWFLTeam, Linda Ann and John Ventura. As proud members of the John R Wood Properties real estate team, we want to share with you a little bit about ourselves and a lot about life and real estate in southwest Florida. Let’s start by introducing ourselves:
Linda Ann spent 33 years as an elementary school teacher, with emphasis on special education, in Rochester NY. She also holds an administration degree though spent the bulk of her career in the classroom. She is a nationally board certified teacher, a distinction not often achieved by classroom teachers. She also served as an adjunct professor of education at Roberts Wesleyan College. She still claims that her greatest achievement is being a grandmother! She is a volunteer at the Naples Community Players. She is a member of the Marco Island Women’s Club and enjoys playing Pickle Ball in her spare time. She holds a great passion for fashion! and every few years loves to visit Paris to see the latest trends.
John spent 30 years practicing chiropractic in Rochester NY. He was a full time clinician in a 3 doctor practice and part time faculty member for 20 years as a clinical instructor in the department of family medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. In 2016 he sold his practice to one of his associate doctors and he and Linda Ann decided to make southwest Florida their full time residence in 2017. After moving to Florida, and seeing the enjoyment and enthusiasm Linda Ann was experiencing in real estate, John obtained his Florida real estate license and now handles much of the online computer work for their business. John still participates with 3 national health quality initiatives, as a board member with the United States Bone and Joint Initiative, a committee member with the National Quality Forum and on a technical expert panel with Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services. He enjoys running for exercise and playing piano for relaxation. He has recently become a volunteer with the Naples Conservancy.
Together Linda Ann and John enjoy traveling, exercising at the Marco Island YMCA, walking George, their 5 lb Yorkie, at Mackle Park, watching sunsets at residents beach and spending time with their grandchildren, 3 of whom live in Dublin, Ireland and 2 in Miami, Florida. They are both avid readers. The latest book recommendation from John is Money and The Meaning of Life by Jacob Needleman, PhD. Linda Ann’s latest book recommendation is Eleanor Oliphant by Gail Honeyman.
